Macro Moth

I was leaving my office last Saturday night and saw this moth parked on the gate. I wondered if I'd have time to get some shots of it. I walked back to my office, put my macro lens in and came back out. It was still there, more than happy to allow me to get shots of it.

I sure need the practice because this was really the only one out of several which seemed to come out ok.

I love macro shots. Especially when the subject is patient enough to wait. Even using an external flash did not bother it.

Another Mountain Shot

I was out toward Santa Paula today. I had been looking for a way to get a nice shot of the mountain you see here. I finally found a little road I could go down which took me to a very nice place from which to get a shot of it.

Mountains, Clouds and Close-ups

I like certain types of clouds. Especially the ones that are very close to mountains. It just looks so interesting how the clouds seem to be attached to the mountain. I put my original picture up, along with two others that allow a closer inspection of what I'm talking about.

Lake Casitas

I was up in the hills above Lake Casitas and found this spot just off the road. It was a cloudy day, but I still liked what I saw.

Mountains and Meadows

I wanted to find some places to take pictures, and today I found a few. I liked this picture for the way the mountains were setting between the trees like that. I felt like this was a good shot, even though the mountains look so tiny in it.

The Sunset

I love a good sunset. I was down at the beach this evening, at a place where people always seem to go to see the sunet. Over at the end of Seaward, in Ventura you run into the beach.
This picture was taken with a polarizing filter attached. Shots which include the sun can usually use a little help. Especially for an amateur like me.
